Working with Multiple Partner Relationships Through an Attachment Lens (June 26, 2026)

As more clients explore consensual non-monogamy and multiple partner relationship structures, many therapists find themselves wanting a clearer clinical map for navigating attachment, emotional safety, and relational dynamics in the room.

In this HCEFT community meeting, Gabriel Gonzalez, LCSW, will offer an introduction to working with multiple partner relationships from an attachment systems perspective. Participants will explore foundational terminology, current relational landscape and research, and common clinical dynamics that emerge when working with more than two partners in therapy.

This presentation will also invite therapists to reflect on their own assumptions and beliefs about multiple partner relationships while expanding their understanding of how attachment needs, distress cycles, boundaries, and emotional responsiveness may show up across relationship structures.

Through discussion and clinical examples, therapists will leave with a more grounded framework for approaching this work with curiosity, clarity, and greater confidence.

Friday, June 26 at 2 PM CT
Hosted by the Houston Community for Emotionally Focused Therapy (HCEFT)
